Album Notes & Community Reviews

Einst眉rzende Neubauten鈥檚 1985 album *陆 Mensch* marks a pivotal evolution, refining their industrial-noise assault into a work of harrowing, ritualistic theater. The production balances brutalist percussion鈥攆orged from scrap metal and power tools鈥攚ith stark, atmospheric spaces. Blixa Bargeld鈥檚 vocals shift from guttural shrieks to the iconic, polyphonic chant of the title track, exploring themes of corporeal existence and the fractured self. Its conceptual depth was further realized in S艒go Ishii's accompanying film, which visually fused the band鈥檚 performance with the visceral movements of Japanese Butoh dancers, cementing its status as a landmark of post-industrial art.
