Reflections of a Floating World
by Elder
On 'Reflections of a Floating World', the band expands upon the progressive trajectory of their previous work, broadening their sound with the addition of a second guitarist and keyboards for a more voluminous and layered approach. [2, 8, 11] The album is defined by six monumental songs, often exceeding ten minutes, that weave between heavy, riff-driven stoner and doom foundations and intricate, psychedelic passages with lush, atmospheric textures. [3, 6, 8] The production balances this dense instrumentation, allowing melodic guitar harmonies, ethereal keyboard parts including Mellotron, and a dynamic rhythm section to coalesce into sprawling, multi-part compositions that venture into krautrock and space rock territories.
