Album Notes & Community Reviews

As the first recording by the band without co-founder Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne assumed full creative control, steering the group toward a more refined, cohesive symphonic sound. The ambitious song cycle on the first side demonstrated an increasing mastery of integrating classical string sections with contemporary rock structures.
