Album Notes & Community Reviews

Reuniting with his classic 1970s backing band lineup (Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson) for the last time, Elton John delivered a remarkably strong collection of radio-friendly pop-rock. The album famously features 'Sad Songs (Say So Much)', marking a brief but highly successful return to straightforward, piano-driven arrangements amidst a heavily synthesized decade. It reaffirmed his status as an enduring hitmaker on the global pop charts.
