Sir Elton John is a British singer, pianist, and composer who became one of the 20th century's biggest music icons. His enduring songwriting partnership with lyricist *Bernie Taupin* is one of the most successful in history. Known for his flamboyant showmanship and a unique blend of pop and rock, he achieved immense success in the 1970s with a streak of seven consecutive number-one albums in the US, including the landmark 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'. He has sold over 300 million records worldwide. His early work was released on #DJM Records# before he founded his own label, #The Rocket Record Company#, in 1973. An EGOT winner, he was knighted in 1998 for his services to music and charity.
