Widely considered to stem from one of the most turbulent periods in the artist's career, this project was recorded concurrently with 'Ice on Fire'. The sessions were heavily influenced by contemporary synthesized pop rock, shifting away from his traditional piano-driven arrangements. It features the notable collaboration 'Slow Rivers' alongside longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin.
