Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceived as a tribute to the classic 1960s R&B and soul legends that inspired him and Bernie Taupin in their youth, 'Sleeping With the Past' became a massive late-career commercial triumph. Recorded in Denmark, the album is heavily characterized by glossy, adult-contemporary production and smooth, blue-eyed soul melodies. It yielded his first solo UK number-one single with the track 'Sacrifice'.
