All This Useless Beauty

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally intended to be a collection of songs given away to other artists, the veteran songwriter instead reclaimed the material for his final collaboration with The Attractions. The mature, highly polished arrangements heavily favor lush ballads and sophisticated chamber-pop structures over his earlier punk-infused energy. The melancholic, heavily orchestrated project marked the definitive end of an era before the backing band completely dissolved.
