Vertebrae

Vertebrae cover art

Marking a definitive maturation in their sound, the Norwegian veterans lean heavily into 1970s progressive rock aesthetics, drawing frequent comparisons to Pink Floyd and Rush. The record significantly reduces their foundational black metal blast beats in favor of atmospheric, mid-tempo riffing and a massive increase in Herbrand Larsen's clean vocal melodies. It earned the band a Norwegian Spellemann Award for Best Metal Album.
