Album Notes & Community Reviews

A breakout album for French-Swiss trumpeter Erik Truffaz and his quartet, 'Bending New Corners' famously integrates hip-hop MC Nya, whose vocals add a distinctive urban flavor to the band's cool, atmospheric nu jazz. This fusion of acid jazz, drum and bass rhythms, and rap was a defining statement in the European jazz scene at the time. The album captures the band's dynamic live energy and their innovative approach to genre-blending.
