The final album from Carla Bozulich's Evangelista project, 'In Animal Tongue' is a deeply abstract and atmospheric work. It moves further away from conventional song structures, favoring sparse, textural soundscapes built from dissonant strings, ominous electronics, and processed sound. Bozulich's vocals are more like a spectral presence than a lead instrument, whispering, moaning, and screaming from within the dense, unsettling sonic environment.
