Idlewild

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the duo at their most refined, this project strips back the lush orchestration of their previous efforts in favor of sparse, intimate arrangements. Tracey Thorn's smoky, emotional vocals take center stage, delivering poignant narratives of heartbreak and longing over Ben Watt's understated guitar and piano work. The record stands as a pristine example of the era's sophisticated, jazz-inflected pop music.
