Album Notes & Community Reviews

For their sophomore effort, the duo of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt adopted a decidedly more electric, rock-oriented production style compared to their jazz-inflected debut. 'Love Not Money' addresses the turbulent sociopolitical climate of Thatcher's Britain head-on, delivering biting critiques wrapped in lush, melancholic jangle-pop arrangements. The album seamlessly blends highly literate, observational songwriting with a sophisticated, autumnal indie-pop aesthetic.
