Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fronted by former Zs member Charlie Looker, the debut album from this Brooklyn ensemble is a deeply unsettling fusion of math-rock and medieval choral music. Looker's operatic, melismatic vocal delivery twists over incredibly rigid, polyrhythmic guitar lines and violin scraping, creating an atmosphere that feels simultaneously ancient and mechanical. It remains a staggering, highly unique achievement within the modern avant-garde.
