Josh Tillman delivers a sprawling, deeply cynical 74-minute opus dissecting the absurdities of modern human civilization. The record is driven by heavily orchestrated piano ballads and biting, hyper-literate critiques of religion, politics, technology, and the entertainment industry. While polarizing for its overwhelming grandiosity, it won the Grammy Award for Best Recording Package.
