Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by Tony Allen's impeccably intricate drum patterns and a massive, blaring horn section, this release is a prime example of high-intensity Afrobeat. Fela Kuti utilizes sprawling, side-long compositions to build trance-like rhythmic momentum before delivering sharp, socially conscious vocal incantations. The record perfectly encapsulates the militant energy and complex polyrhythmic architecture of his legendary Lagos compound era.
