'Arrival' showcases a significant shift for the ensemble, scaled down to a 14-piece unit that exchanges the overwhelming force of previous releases for a more spacious, melancholic, and song-oriented approach. The arrangements, a mix of original compositions and covers, are distinguished by the addition of a string quartet and the prominent vocal interplay of Mariam Wallentin and Sofia Jernberg, whose performances guide the album's structured yet improvisational character. Produced by drummer Andreas Werliin, the album's warm, detailed sound balances intricate layers of horns, strings, and rhythm, framing the music's blend of dark textures and serene balladry.
