Biography

Fire! Orchestra is an expansive and volatile large ensemble built around the core Swedish trio *Fire!*. Led by saxophonist *Mats Gustafsson*, bassist *Johan Berthling*, and drummer *Andreas Werliin*, the orchestra merges free jazz, psychedelic rock, noise, and funk into a powerful, hypnotic force. With a lineup that has ranged from fourteen to over forty musicians, the collective is known for its immense sonic power, dynamic arrangements, and cathartic live performances. Their recordings, including the seminal debut "Exit!" and the ambitious "Echoes", showcase a unique ability to blend structured composition with wild, ecstatic improvisation, creating a sound that is both overwhelmingly massive and intricately detailed.
