Album Notes & Community Reviews

Rejecting the high-speed intensity typical of their Norwegian peers, Forgotten Woods opted for slow, dirge-like tempos and prominently featured prominent, almost post-punk-inspired basslines. The debut album's profoundly melancholic and repetitive approach laid critical foundations for the depressive suicidal black metal (DSBM) subgenre.
