Cheap at Half the Price
by Fred Frith
Constructed almost entirely at home using a primitive 4-track recorder, Frith's solo endeavor is an exceptionally playful, lo-fi deconstruction of pop music. The former Henry Cow guitarist utilizes bizarre tape manipulation, toy instruments, and disjointed vocal performances to create highly eccentric, disjointed pop songs. It serves as a delightfully bizarre, accessible anomaly within his extensive avant-garde catalog.
