Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following significant lineup changes, including the departure of Joey Burns and John Convertino (who formed Calexico), the instrumental ensemble pivots toward a darker, more expansive sound. 'A Place in the Sun' heavily utilizes pedal steel guitars and vibraphones to construct sweeping, cinematic post-rock heavily influenced by Ennio Morricone scores. The record masterfully evokes the desolate, psychedelic atmosphere of the American Southwest.
