Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Birmingham-based sextet delivered an incredibly eclectic debut characterized by intricate brass arrangements and whimsical, progressive songwriting. Anchored by Richard Pannell's fluid guitar lines and a robust, jazz-inflected horn section, the tracks effortlessly shift between eccentric psychedelic folk and driving brass-rock. It stands as a prime example of the inventive, boundary-pushing music championed by the Deram label during its most fertile era.
