Album Notes & Community Reviews

Breaking a significant recording silence, the biracial New York singer-songwriter returned with a deeply personal, socially conscious exploration of American race relations. 'Don't Call Me Buckwheat' weaves his signature mix of street-smart reggae, soulful R&B, and slick pop-rock into incredibly sharp, autobiographical narratives. The album was widely hailed by critics as a triumphant, mature comeback that confronted prejudice with both anger and infectious melody.
