Album Notes & Community Reviews
Collaborating with producers Larry and Fonce Mizell, saxophonist Gary Bartz delivers a quintessential artifact of lush, dancefloor-ready 70s jazz-funk. 'Music Is My Sanctuary' surrounds his soulful horn lines with soaring female vocals, sweeping strings, and tight, uplifting rhythm sections. The incredibly warm, optimistic production bridged the gap between serious jazz improvisation and massive R&B crossover appeal.
