Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking the initiation of the highly fruitful partnership between David Grubbs and Jim O'Rourke, this album radically deconstructs traditional acoustic forms. By interlacing delicate acoustic guitar plucking with abrasive tape loops, unpredictable pauses, and dissonance, the duo laid essential groundwork for the cerebral wing of the Chicago post-rock scene.
