Album Notes & Community Reviews

Supported by an elite cast of session musicians including John Abercrombie and Stanley Clarke, the Argentine saxophonist unleashes a furious, deeply impassioned set of South American-infused jazz. Barbieri's signature overblown, intensely romantic tenor tone soars above incredibly dense, polyrhythmic Brazilian percussion, exploring a fiery cross-section of spiritual jazz and Latin folk forms. The recording stands as a highly energetic peak in his culturally syncretic catalog.
