Album Notes & Community Reviews

The sophomore effort from the Billy Idol-fronted outfit, 'Valley of the Dolls' embraces a noticeably slicker production courtesy of Ian Hunter. The record shifts away from the abrasive, lo-fi origins of the British punk movement to incorporate anthemic, stadium-ready pop hooks. It polarized early supporters but set a crucial precedent for the commercial trajectory of melodic punk.
