Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following his tenure with The Humblebums, the Scottish troubadour's solo debut is a masterclass in melodic, Beatlesque folk-pop. Despite its commercial failure at the time, 'Can I Have My Money Back?' showcases highly refined songwriting and lush vocal harmonies. It directly anticipated the massive soft-rock success he would achieve later in the decade with Stealers Wheel and as a solo star.
