Biography
Gerry Rafferty (1947 to 2011) was a Scottish singer-songwriter from Paisley, first known with *The Humblebums* and then as co-founder of *Stealers Wheel*, whose 'Stuck in the Middle with You' remains a standard. His solo breakthrough 'City to City' (1978) carried 'Baker Street', one of the most recognisable soft rock recordings of its era, and 'Right Down the Line'. Rafferty disliked the music business, recorded sparingly after the early 1980s, and died in 2011, leaving a small, carefully crafted catalogue.
