Turandot

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring a legendary pairing of Birgit Nilsson and Jussi Björling, this studio recording brilliantly captures the massive scale and orientalist grandeur of the composer's final, unfinished masterpiece. The sweeping choral passages and terrifyingly demanding vocal leads are supported by a lush, highly dramatic orchestral performance. It remains a critically revered, definitive stereophonic account of the tragic operatic epic.
