Album Notes & Community Reviews

Howe Gelb's revolving ensemble delivered a dusty, unpredictable collection that helped lay the groundwork for modern Americana. Fusing traditional country-western motifs with chaotic, independent rock sensibilities, the record perfectly evokes the vastness of their Arizona origins. The ramshackle production style highlights the group's preference for spontaneous emotion over technical precision.
