Album Notes & Community Reviews
Conceived as a major crossover effort aimed at the North American market, 'Nightingale' presents Gilberto Gil's infectious songwriting through a sleek, adult contemporary lens. Produced by S茅rgio Mendes, the album translates his classic Brazilian rhythms into heavily polished, English-language tracks layered with disco and funk grooves. While polarizing purists, it successfully showcased his immense pop sensibilities to a broader international audience.
