Stratavarious

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following his immersion into the vibrant Nigerian music scene alongside Fela Kuti, the celebrated drummer produced 'Stratavarious' as a fiery synthesis of Afrobeat and electric jazz-rock. The album relies on sprawling polyrhythmic foundations layered with fierce Hammond organ and brass improvisations. It remains a fascinating cultural crossover that prefigured later explorations in world fusion.
