Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennas to Heaven

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released at the dawn of a new millennium, "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" is Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s definitive political and spiritual statement, a sprawling double album whose central thesis is the discovery of defiant beauty and fragile hope within a landscape of societal decay and corporate monoliths. It functions not as a collection of songs, but as four immense, cinematic suites that navigate the anxieties of a broken world through majestic orchestral crescendos and the haunting intimacy of found-sound recordings. The album masterfully transforms the cacophony of modern dread into a wordless, post-rock symphony that gazes upward, seeking and ultimately finding a form of transcendence in the ruins.
