Album Notes & Community Reviews

Damon Albarn's virtual band returns after a seven-year hiatus with a sprawling, conceptually dense 'party for the end of the world'. Conceived in the anxious shadow of the 2016 US presidential election, the album recruits a staggering array of guests, including Vince Staples, Grace Jones, and Mavis Staples. While polarizing for pushing Albarn's own vocals to the background, it successfully captured an atmosphere of chaotic, apocalyptic club music.
