Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging heavily from the Pacific Northwest riot grrrl lineage, the power trio's second album is a raw, fiercely unpolished explosion of blues-inflected garage punk. The minimalist, bass-less instrumentation relies entirely on jagged, distorted guitar riffs to support Beth Ditto's immense, gospel-trained vocal power. The deeply soulful, incredibly aggressive performances established the band as a vital force in the underground punk revival.
