Album Notes & Community Reviews
Anchored by its earth-shattering title track, 'The Message' fundamentally altered the trajectory of hip-hop by proving the genre could convey profound social commentary. While the album features playful, rhythmic disco-rap party cuts, its core lies in its stark, highly conscious depiction of urban decay over futuristic electro-funk beats.
