Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Blues Obituary' came as the Groundhogs moved beyond strict blues revivalism toward heavier and more idiosyncratic rock forms. Tony McPhee's guitar work gives the record a sharper, more exploratory character than many British blues releases of the period. The album helped position the group for the more progressive and politically charged work that followed.
