Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Wolf Rock!' is the debut album by the Nagasaki trio Guitar Wolf, recorded lo-fi in singer Seiji's basement, and it became the very first release on Goner Records, the Memphis label Eric Friedl of the Oblivians founded after seeing the band at the Garageshock Festival. The album announced the band's 'Jet Rock' assault of Ramones tempos and Link Wray distortion, a path that later carried them to a deal with Matador Records.
