Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Happiness Proof' extends the art pop Haco developed with After Dinner and Hoahio into a studio construction involving Otomo Yoshihide on turntables, Pierre Bastien, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Peter Hollinger and Yoshimitsu Ichiraku. Haco framed the record as spanning, in her words, the postpunk rock of 1979 to the postrock of 1999, and its songs alternate Japanese vocal melody with glitch and noise-pop abrasion.
