Aokigahara

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Austrian post-black metal duo significantly refines their remarkably intense, emotionally devastating sound on their sophomore album. 'Aokigahara' brilliantly contrasts incredibly desperate, tortured vocal shrieks and heavy blast beats with soaring, highly melodic, and beautifully melancholic post-rock guitar leads. The record functions as a profoundly sad, intensely passionate, and terrifyingly atmospheric exploration of grief and suicide.
