Album Notes & Community Reviews

Self-released on his own Gate 5 imprint, 'The Wayward' is a staggering collection of compositions inspired by Harry Partch's experiences living as a transient hobo during the Great Depression. The album utilizes his entirely custom-built, 43-tone microtonal instrumentarium to score hitchhiker graffiti and newsboy cries. It is an utterly singular masterpiece of the American avant-garde that defies standard musical categorization.
