Hana ni mizu

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally commissioned as background music for the Muji retail chain, 'Hana ni mizu' showcases Hosono's deep engagement with environmental music concepts. The compositions rely on sparse, repetitive synthesizer loops and minimal percussion, designed to blend unobtrusively into architectural spaces. This release stands as a foundational document in the history of Japanese 'kankyō ongaku' (environmental music).
