Album Notes & Community Reviews

The final full-length from the Portland quartet serves as a fascinating transition away from their post-hardcore roots toward sophisticated indie rock. Internal tensions and Elliott Smith's rapidly ascending solo career deeply fractured the recording process, leading to the band's dissolution prior to the album's release. Despite the strained circumstances, the songwriting displays remarkable maturation, prominently featuring Smith's emerging acoustic sensibilities.
