Biography
Heatmiser was an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 1991 by Elliott Smith and Neil Gust with Brandt Peterson and Tony Lash. Their songwriting contrasted Smith's melodic pop instincts with Gust's darker material across three albums, 'Dead Air' (1993), 'Cop and Speeder' (1994) and 'Mic City Sons' (1996), the last recorded with bassist Sam Coomes before the band split as Smith's solo career rose.
