Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded entirely solo through extensive overdubbing, this debut album highlights the French jazz bassist utilizing everything from the oud to flutes alongside his primary instrument. The music is incredibly sparse, drawing heavily from North African folk structures and spiritual jazz minimalism. It is a deeply meditative, hypnotic work that broke significant new ground for the acoustic double bass in a lead role.
