Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping out from his highly visible role in the Oscar Peterson Trio, the Texas-born guitarist leads a deeply swinging, exceptionally refined studio session. Supported by an all-star lineup including Harry 'Sweets' Edison and Jimmy Giuffre, his remarkably fluid, Charlie Christian-influenced single-note lines are placed firmly in the spotlight. The impeccably tasteful recording highlights his ability to effortlessly bridge relaxed West Coast cool with a profound, earthy blues feeling.
