Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking a return to the foundational elements of her sound, 'qp' is a work of stark minimalism, built almost exclusively from Ichiko Aoba's intricate classical guitar and ethereal vocals. The album is noted for its delicate, sparse atmosphere, crafting a sound that is simultaneously intimate and fragile by drawing on folk and classical traditions. Its compositions navigate a nuanced emotional balance, shifting between a gentle, inviting charm and a deep melancholy by using subtle harmonic tension and resolution.
