Album Notes & Community Reviews

A powerful latter-day statement from one of the original Afro-Jazz ensembles. Led by saxophonist Idris Ackamoor, 'Shaman!' connects the cosmic, spiritual jazz of the 1970s with modern funk and soul grooves. The album is a joyous and theatrical celebration, featuring Ackamoor's charismatic vocals and searing saxophone over a driving rhythm section. It's a testament to the enduring power and relevance of the Afro-Jazz movement, led by one of its pioneering artists.
