Album Notes & Community Reviews

Issued on Motown's Black Forum imprint, this militant, fiercely political recording captures the radical poet delivering impassioned, revolutionary verse over heavily syncopated avant-garde instrumentation. Backed by an aggressive ensemble of free jazz luminaries, the visceral performance serves as a defining manifesto of the Black Arts Movement and Pan-African liberation.
